Ben Nabinger is a costume designer and illustrator for Theater, Film and Television originally from Baltimore now living and working in Los Angeles.

After earning his BA in Theatre from UMBC (University of Maryland, Baltimore County) then designing and stitching for theaters in Maryland, Florida, and Kentucky, he began studying costume design for film and television at UCLA. During his three years there, he worked to bring focus and clarity to his designs and found a new interest and skill in costume illustration through digital media.

As a costume designer, Ben’s inspiration comes from an intersection of collaboration, exploration, and spontaneity.  As an illustrator, Ben works by utilizing the strengths of software such as Adobe Photoshop, Procreate, and Clip Studio Paint in tandem with one another in order to develop a unique style for each project that reflects the mood, genre, and characters. For one story, that might mean collaging photos to get a realistic representation, while in another he might emulate a comic book or a watercolor illustration.
